D.M.A. (Dave) Hollaway, M.Sc., AIC, ARMDave Hollaway is the Principal Manager of Forensic Aerospace Associates, L.L.C. and has more than 30 years of experience in aerospace, offshore marine, petrochemical, nuclear power generation, transportation and heavy rotating equipment manufacturing operations, human factors and systems safety.

Dave earned a Master of Aeronautical Science with a dual major in human factors and aerospace system safety from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University; his graduate thesis was on the biodynamics of helicopter crash survivability. Dave also earned a Bachelor’s degree in biology with a major in human anatomy and physiology and a minor in environmental science from the University of North Carolina. He also earned a graduate certificate in Process Safety Engineering Practice from the Mary K. O’Conner Process Safety Center at Texas A&M University.

Dave Hollaway is a graduate of the DOT Transportation Safety Institute (TSI), completing multiple courses in aircraft accident investigation and reconstruction, advanced rotorcraft accident investigation, human factors, turbine engine accident investigation, transport category aircraft cabin safety investigation, and the aviation safety officer course. He has completed numerous safety and mishap prevention, investigation and reconstruction courses from the U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as well as the NASA Engineering Safety Center course in human factors. Dave Hollaway completed the Associate in Claims (AIC) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) credential programs from the Insurance Institute of America, specializing in claims investigation, accident prevention and risk management of transportation systems. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and a former auxiliary aviator for the U.S. Coast Guard flying both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. He also has been a Lead Safety Representative for the FAA Safety Team (FAAST) for more than 10 years.

Dave Hollaway has completed training certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement for basic, intermediate and advanced reserve peace officer. He has been certified in both state and federal courts as a subject matter expert for aviation and transportation safety, as well as occupational safety and health. He is an OSHA authorized trainer for general industry and has completed numerous occupational safety, environmental compliance, and public safety emergency response courses.

In addition to the overall management of Forensic Aerospace Associates, L.L.C., Mr. Hollaway consults in business and commercial aviation regulatory compliance issues, conducts aviation and transportation safety audits and training, and forensic analyses and reconstruction of transportation accidents. Dave Hollaway is affiliated with the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES), American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), the International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI), American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA); NTSB Bar Association; Helicopter Association International (HAI); Aircraft Owner's and Pilot's Associations (AOPA); National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA), and the United States Coast Guard Aviation Association.
